Avengers: Doomsday: What Comes Next?

Let’s talk about the upcoming Avengers film. Avengers: Doomsday is coming to theaters December 18th, 2026. I have a lot of thoughts about this film, & I also have very high hopes for it as well.

We all know the vast majority of Marvel fans felt what is now referred to as “superhero fatigue.” I don’t believe in it simply because you either have a good, great, fantastic, or horribly shitty superhero film. It’s a matter of whether the film is actually worth seeing or not.

There are so many fans out there who stuck it out during the not-so-popular phases four and five of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Kudos to them because, personally, I thought that we got a perfect example of a studio that was pushing a quantity-over-quality agenda.

Seriously, we got so many television series & special presentations that it felt like we were being suffocated.

I enjoyed WandaVision, Moon Knight, & the very recent Daredevil: Born Again. Although, now those shows have been canceled after the first season. (Minus Daredevil, which got at least three seasons still in the making.)

Disney is at fault here. Kevin Feige had no intention of making this Marvel’s new motto. It’s very apparent when he got to make the final decisions in the current phase. (We are now in Phase Six.) We got more quality.

Two great examples of that are Deadpool & Wolverine & Spider-Man: Brand New Day (which I wrote an article about on this page), but I digress.

Avengers: Doomsday is going to be part one of the epic conclusion to the Multiverse Saga & a direct sequel to 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Somehow, the Russo Brothers found a way to tell a brilliant story that leads directly into Doomsday.

We all just saw the encore version of Avengers: Endgame, right?

OKAY, if not…

There were four brand-new post-credit scenes that give us a bit of a teaser for Doomsday.

I am a big fan of the Russo Brothers’ works. They really put a lot of effort into their projects, & this new installment to the Avengers franchise is no different.

This time around, we are going to be seeing universes collide. A multiversal war that all leads back to the main villain of the story…

In the trailer, we hear Doom speak on the “stolen lives” many of the current Avengers have lived.

The question everyone is asking…

What will the inevitable “reset” of the MCU look like?

What actors remain after Doomsday & Secret Wars?
